I love this time of year. Spring is in the air. The birds are chirping. Hockey is heading into the playoffs. And the Tigers are starting to roar.
But there is also one thing I’m not looking forward to: moving.
Yes, we are moving the office again. But this time, it is to our very own building. I recently purchased the historic Kerr House, Lansing’s oldest home built in 1855 for John Kerr, the founder of the Lansing State Journal. I am restoring it to become our office and world headquarters. It is grand. It is beautiful. It’s going to be great. But as it stands right now, it needs a lot of work.
This move all came about because my lease is almost up at the current location and our landlord has already rented our office suite. The folks I have been working with are going to move into a smaller office right next door to the current office. While there is not enough room for Smalley Investments, this change has provided me the opportunity to move back downtown Lansing. And did I mention that the new building is terrific? It is.
Our last day at our current office is May 31. Hopefully the contractors will have the new building ready to go June 1. Once we get settled into our new office, I will send out all the pertinent information. And yes, we will have an Open House so you can come and check it out. It is all very exciting.
In the meantime, our phone number and email remain the same. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to give me a call.
